From time to time, it is important to look at one's daily habits in order to have a healthier routine that fits in with one's current lifestyle. Always committed to our employees' wellbeing, Axxon offers tips to improve quality of life. On our website, you have access to a healthy habits survey that provides a personalised report on the areas where you already have good habits and the areas where you could do better.
Consistency in certain daily actions is crucial to maintaining high performance, both at work and at home, and to maintaining mental health. Take a moment to reflect on your weekly routine to identify your strengths and areas for improvement.
In the morning, do not check your phone as soon as you wake up. Allow yourself some time without any screen or social media stimuli until breakfast, or even later! Include a balanced breakfast in your diet. This could be a piece of fruit, bread, cereal or biscuits, a glass of milk, juice, or coffee. We recommend eating protein-rich foods such as nuts or yoghurt to prevent hunger pangs in the morning.
At lunchtime, it is important to include vegetables and carbohydrates for energy. Combine these foods with vegetable or animal protein to ensure a complete meal. The combinations are endless! For dinner, it's better to choose a light meal. This will help with digestion and not affect sleep quality. You can also mix vegetables, proteins, and carbohydrates in smaller portions. Avoid eating too much bread.
Important! Stay hydrated by drinking between 1 and 3 litres of water a day. Drink at mealtimes and throughout the day.
Lastly, make time for yourself. You can use your commute to work to walk the recommended daily amount of time (30-40 minutes). Replace the lift with the stairs. Our daily lives are full of responsibilities that we can't put off but try to carve out moments for yourself. For example, set aside two afternoons to practise the sport you love, to socialise and to rest. These are moments of relaxation and good mental health.
Prioritise quality sleep by avoiding the use of electronic devices before bedtime. Get the hours of rest you need to start the day full of energy. Look for solutions to external factors that can disrupt sleep, such as noise or light, by keeping your phone out of the bedroom and using earplugs and a sleep mask if necessary. Talk to your doctor if you have persistent sleep problems.
How are your healthy habits? Have you taken the survey? To ensure performance, motivation, and a positive attitude, we at Axxon encourage you to adopt certain habits. Start implementing them today and you'll see positive changes in just a few months.
