We are proud to sponsor the charity concert "Christmas for a New Life. Opening a New Horizon for Alzheimer's and Aging", an initiative led by Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions and Fundació Metalquimia to fight this devastating disease. It will be an evening that combines music, hope and collaboration in a unique event that connects the audience with a cause of great social impact.
The concert will take place on the 12th of December at the Auditorium of Barcelona, where the Simfònica de Cobla i Corda de Catalunya will perform new interpretations of the most heartfelt Christmas melodies. They will be joined by renowned Catalan musical artists: Elena Gadel, Miki Núñez, Beth, Mariona Escoda, La Pau and Joan Garrido, as well as the Coral Polifònica de Puig-reig.
This event is more than just a concert - it is a commitment to raise awareness and support research into Alzheimer's disease. This incurable disease currently affects more than 55 million people worldwide, and experts predict that this number will triple by 2050.
In response to this alarming scenario, leading institutions such as the Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions, IrsiCaixa, Hospital Germans Trias, Barcelonaβeta de la Fundació Pasqual Maragall and Centre de Regulació Genòmica are collaborating on an innovative research project. This groundbreaking effort focuses on the use of a low-cost antiviral drug that could revolutionise the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and the effects of ageing.
