What do you do in your free time? Ideas to take advantage of the Girona festivity!

Girona, 28.10.2021

On several occasions, we have talked about the need to acquire healthy habits in the day-to-day routine. However, when we discuss health issues, these are focused on food and sports rather than on others, such as mental health. Therefore, we should notice that there is much more to take into account. It is important to know what has a direct effect on mental health. For example, what you do in your free time can have strong influences on your well-being, especially your mental well-being. On a day-to-day basis, actions like working, managing duties, and other things such as transportation, occupy a large part of our time and space. Consequently, it is recommended to take advantage of free time to disconnect.

What do you like to do in your free time?It is important to keep these moments to think about yourself because. It can affect directly your work. It is recommended that when you are stressed or stuck with some task, changing the focus will help you to re-do it correctly. Or even be more inspired!

We tend not to inform ourselves of the activities that happen around us due to laziness or lack of time. Nowadays, the easiest thing to disconnect is to connect to the internet through social networks and streaming platforms. But this behaviour results in a daily screen-overexposure which affects our mental (and visual) health.

To promote healthier habits, we want to give you some ideas to enjoy activities to contribute positively to your mental health, and as a consequence, to your daily life! Therefore, and taking advantage of the fact that the Sant Narcís 2021 fairs are just around the corner, we give you some ideas to nourish yourself with what Girona offers during the festivity days.

If you are a culture lover, remember that the Temporada Alta festival, of which we are patrons, has performances scheduled until mid-December. Otherwise, if you desire to enjoy yourself with your family, you can go to the Raluy historical circus. You can also delve into the local heritage from the scheduled activities from Girona museums.

In addition, these days Girona becomes a festival with all styles of music in different parts of the city. There are different sardana dances, as well as concerts in the Migdia Park and the Auditori, to enjoy at all ages. For the youngest, there are concerts every night in the Barraques space, in the Copa park.

We cannot forget the most traditional activities of the local festivity, which luckily this year will be organised again. Some of these activities include the “Cercavila” with all the giant associations on Thursday afternoon. It is the beginning of the other local activities like the hanging of flies, the fire show, or the Castells. Take a look, as these activities only are done on special occasions!

And, to finish it off, do not miss the Artisan Food Market in Independencia square and its surroundings, to accompany all the activities with a good meal.

Discover the rest of the programmed activities and all the details in the official brochure of these days. Good festivity!
